SG’s had a strong 65 run opening partnership after just 9 overs. However, the team collapsed for 156 runs. It’s becoming a bit of a tradition for the 2nd XIs. Nobody seemed to learn from their past mistakes in order to beat our rivals. The match was against a young team with most of their players under 20. Their spirit, motivation and determination were undeniable.
I would not blame anyone in particular but I think we should seriously consider our responsibilities as players, and a club as a whole. We have to do better. We missed out on at least 130 runs because we collapsed within 30 overs. It was a 50 over game but we treated it like a T-20 match. We have to look forward and plan for the next game to prove that we can make the difference.by Cha Cha Khan
