About Us
We currently have 4 Saturday teams playing Surrey Championship cricket, as well as a Sunday team. A Youth cricket programme is also under development. We offer affordable cricket to the local boroughs and welcome members from all backgrounds.
History
Old Sinjuns and Old Grammarians have been playing football and cricket at Trinity Fields for over 60 years. Trinity Fields Trust was created in 1995 in order that the playing field was not disposed of by the Sir Walter St Johns Educational Charity and to prolong use of the ground by the clubs and future generations of club members.
TFT is currently seeking to renew the lease with SWSJEC which expires in 2021. With the benefit of a new lease TFT is proposing to finance improvements of the field with the provision of a new all-weather pitch (size 60m by 100m), the creation of three grass pitches of sufficient size for adult football and rugby and a double sized cricket square.
A new pavilion and club/community room will also be constructed. The new facilities will increase the capacity of the ground for a variety of sports although the existing secondary cricket square will be lost. TFT proposes that the combination of an all-weather and grass playing areas, a secure jogging track within the grounds and a clubroom and community room will serve as hub for a number of currently independent sports clubs to be affiliated or part of Trinity Fields Sports Club offering a wide range of sports and activities some of which will located on-site and others nearby but using the club building as a centre of activity.
The primary source of finance for the maintenance of the field will continue to be provided by the private schools that currently use the playing field. TFT will however be reviewing this use to provide a balance between those schools and local state schools who may be interested in participating at the field. Some commercial use of the all-weather pitch is also likely. Trinity Fields Sports Club will be required to be self-financing in the operation of the clubroom and of a jogging track which will be used by the local community providing annual membership subscriptions. Use of the playing facilities will be subject to a charge by TFT towards the maintenance of the playing field.
In return the clubs must be seen to participate in the development of a membership structure that is vibrant and complies with the charitable objectives of TFT in promoting sport for young people and particularly in encouraging participation from those who reside in Lambeth and and Wandsworth who considered to be in financial need.
